McDonald Golf Course :: Evansville, Indiana

Unfortunately, we have suspended play for the evening. With random lighting in the area and already having suspended play twice I didn't feel comfortable with sending the afternoon golfers back out onto the golf course.

So, what does that mean for everybody? The Saturday afternoon wave that didn't finish are going to have to come back in the morning and finish where they left off at 7 a.m. Sunday morning.
The players who played Saturday morning are unfortunately finished for the tournament and we are making it an 18 hole golf tournament for everybody. Without going into long explanations it would be severely difficult to get some of the field back out to the golf course after the Saturday Afternoon wave finishes at approx 10:30 am on Sunday morning.

This was not an easy decision for me to make but I had to make one and stick with it. I'm sorry that everybody isn't going to get to play 36 holes for the tournament but the players safety was what I was concerned about the most. All the entry money, as always, is going into gift certificates for the winners. I will flight the tournament as I always do and make it as fair as I would have in any other McDonald Amateur. Hopefully the weather will cooperate tommorrow morning and we will be able to get the players who didn't finish finished.

Again, the golfers who played in the Saturday morning round and finished their 18 hole round are done for Sunday. I'll be here for a while this evening to answer anbodys questions.

2008 McDonald Amateur

The 2008 McDonald Amateur will be held July 12-13. The cost is $60 which includes greens fees both days, tee prize and $5600 in gift certificates to the winners of 5 flights. Golf Cars are extra. Championship, A, B, C, D. There will also be a plaque for low Senior and Junior. The field is limited to first 112 players.

The tournament is flighted after the first day and there is a 10% rule in effect.

Click Here for last years entry.... I haven't been able to upload the new one yet.... Please enter your Handicap on the form somewhere as well for pairing only. You don't have to have an established handicap, just something that will allow me to pair up players.

If you have a tee time preference please list it.... I will try my best to get them done but it is possible that I won't be able to handle all the morning request as I only have so many tee times early. We will be teeing off from approx 6:30 - 8:30 in the early flight and 11:30 - 1:30 for the afternoon times.

2008 Men's Club Positions

Dear Friends,

Thank you for a successful 2007 season. We are now ready to accept nominations for officers for 2008. Please submit your name for each position you would like to be considered for. These positions would obviously require you to be available throughout the season to account for your duties in these positions. We need names for President, Tournament Chairman, Treasurer, and Handicap Chairman. These positions are needed immediately and names need to be submitted before January 25th. If you are seriously interested then feel free to submit your name.

Changes for 2008 will include more involved Men’s Club officer’s duties. The Men’s Club members will take over all operations of the club with myself continuing as an advisor and help with scheduling. Voting will be done between after the 25th of January and will run through February 15th. Please come by the golfshop to vote after the 25th of January. You may also call the shop to vote after the 25th when we have the names of those interested.
